What is Cystic Acne and Can it Cause Brain Damage?
By Kelly Anne Harris

The term "cystic" is often used to describe any type of aggressively inflamed acne, however only those whose acne goes on to become cysts can claim to have cystic acne. The most serious kind of acne blemishes are Cysts, they are recognizable by their soft feel which is basically fluid-filled growths or lumps under the skin's surface and can be extremely painful.

Cystic acne acne is referred to in medical circles as nodulocystic acne and is considered to be the most aggressive form of acne. It differs from normal acne in its severity and appearance, deep, inflamed skin blemishes develop primarily on the face but can appear on other areas of the body also.

The blemishes often can become large and in some more acute conditions can measure up to two or three inches across.

One of the major problems for Nodulocystic acne sufferers is that they develop nodules as well as cysts. Nodules are painful, hard, lumps that sit under the skin's surface. These are much larger than papules and form deep within the skin taking a long time to heal.

Some dermatologists believe that acne cysts shouldn't really be considered cysts, but should be regarded as severely inflamed nodular breakouts.

Whilst Cystic acne can affect anyone it is definitely more common in adolescent boys and young men. Studies show that acne seems to run in families so there's a strong chance that if your parents suffered from cystic acne then there's a strong likelihood that you will also suffer the same fate.

Whilst this is a serious condition that needs to be treated there is no evidence to date that it can cause brain damage although, if untreated, the physiological impact and resulting lack of social confidence can have a big influence on the sufferers life.

It's quite common for those with severe acne to experience strong feelings of acute embarrassment, shame and anger regarding the condition of their skin. Many avoid mirrors and avoid social situations where they believe that their appearance will cause them embarrassment. Acne can seriously damage the self-esteem and can often lead to depression.

If you are experiencing these problems then you need to address the problem as soon as possible. With the right advice and course of action you can overcome your skin condition, regain your confidence and lead a normal life.

Just because acne is common, doesn't mean that you need to suffer needlessly, and that there isn't anything that you can do about getting rid of acne. You certainly don't need to wait until it decides to go away by its self before you decide to take action. There is a great remedy available that will help you get rid of acne

Cystic Acne Treatment - Dealing With Difficult Acne Formations - Key Facts You Need to Know
By Andy Johnston

If you are looking for information on a cystic acne treatment, undoubtedly you already know that you are dealing with a form of acne that proves particularly troublesome. Cystic acne can be intensely painful, and the condition requires special treatment in order to remedy the existing infection. When you are looking for a way to treat this type of acne, you are literally looking for a method to eliminate the red, inflamed, swollen, pus filled pustules that appear on the skin's surface.

Causes

There are different causes cited for this form of acne, but there is no one-hundred percent clear answer as to why it occurs. Some people might have hereditary factors that cause the eruption or hormonal imbalances and/or changes might be responsible for this acne onset. This condition can occur in any one at any age: children, adult men, and adult women can develop this condition at any stage of life.

Treatment

Early treatment of cystic acne is best for acne scar prevention. First, you will want to try basic at home treatments like regular face cleansing and the use of a specific over-the-counter care product that was made for this form of acne. If the latter process fails to get the condition under control, you have medical options that might also alleviate the condition. Sometimes a doctor or a dermatologist will give you a prescription for Erythromycin, Clindamycin, Minocycline, Tetracycline, or Treninoin. You will need to take the full course of antibiotics as prescribed by your physician in order to achieve maximum health benefits.

Cystic Acne - Symptoms, Causes & Treatments

Cystic Acne 101 Presents:

Cystic Acne - Symptoms, Causes & Treatments
By Louise Lundgren

Acne is a problem that affects many and it is easily recognized by whiteheads and blackheads on any part of your body. Acne has many degrees; mild, moderate and severe acne breakouts. For people that have mild to moderate acne, there are many over-the-counter treatments that you can purchase in your local drugstore, but if you suffer from cystic acne, these treatments might just not be potent enough to control the problem.

Cystic acne is recognized by large bumps (diameter of app. 5 millimeters) without a head, unlike whiteheads. These large bumps under the skin contain pus and are often very painful to deal with and it is therefore very important to leave them be and not pop this kind of acne lesion. If you try to squeeze acne cysts to relief the pain, you will only cause more inflammation and irritation. If for some reason you can't leave it alone, the most probable thing that can happen is that you will end up with a very ugly scar.

Cystic acne is a form of severe acne, but the degree depends on the amount of cysts that you have. For some, cysts will appear once every now and then, but for others, these cysts can be an ongoing and painful distress.

Causes for Acne Cysts

There are many factors that can cause the development of an acne cyst. A poor diet, particularly the lack of fruits and vegetables can trigger the formation of cystic acne and people that suffer from this condition may, in addition to an acne cream, consider ingesting retinoids.

In addition, the use of harsh soaps, anti-aging or anti-acne treatments can aggravate cystic acne, if the person applies the products with the wrong instructions; for example with dirty hands.

People that are affected by cysts have probably tried almost every single acne cyst treatment on the market to get rid of them. However, these products seldom treat the root causes of acne or cystic acne. The most important thing to find the right product is to get informed about your condition and then of course the treatments available for your acne and skin type.

How to Cure Acne - Cystic Acne

Cystic Acne 101 Presents:

How to Cure Acne - Cystic Acne
By Chase Michaels

Cystic acne is one of the most embarrassing and self-esteem crushing diseases in the world. But it's also misunderstood, and can be cured naturally without harmful prescription drugs. Here are some tips on how to cure acne, cystic acne in particular.

* Stop taking any harmful drugs and creams right away
* Specifically drugs like anti-biotics and Accutane. I used both and still regret it to this day. Your body can become immune to anti-biotics over time and your acne will become resistant to them, and come back with a vengeance. Accutane has horrible side effects on certain people like hair loss and dry skin that you can have for life, not to mention that acne comes back WAY worse for many people after you stop taking the drug. Creams only address the symptoms of acne and not the root. They too stop working over time and can cause your skin to become immune, which will cause your cystic acne, pimples, and blackheads to come back full force! Start eating correctly
* Certain foods do cause acne despite what you may hear elsewhere. Numerous studies have proven this over the years. If you are acne prone you need to eat the right foods and avoid known acne-causing foods, like vegetable oils and anything that spikes your insulin levels. There are foods that can also help you get rid of acne as well, and you should learn which foods are beneficial. Certain supplements are acne killers
There are a few all natural supplements that I recommend that are proven to stop pimples and especially cystic acne right in its' tracks. They are inexpensive and can be found at any health food store. Spirulina is an excellent supplement that aids in digestion. Poor digestion is one of the main causes of cystic acne.

My name is Chase Michaels, and I feel your pain. I suffered with acne for almost half of my life.

I couldn't even go swimming with friends or talk to girls because of how bad my cystic body acne was. It crushed my self-esteem.

However, cystic acne is very treatable and very misunderstood. All you need is the right information to get completely clear, and it can take less than a week if you follow the right program.

If you're sick and tired of feeling like crap because of this disgusting and embarrassing disorder, learn how to cure acne (cystic acne specifically) today.

If you're finally ready to take the right steps to become completely clear, check out http://cure-acne-naturally.info and learn how to get rid of cystic acne for good in just a few weeks.

You will thank yourself later.

Treatments For Nodulocystic Acne

Add to Technorati Favorites

Cystic Acne 101 Presents:

Treatments For Nodulocystic Acne
By Alwyn Tan

First and foremost, nodulocystic acne is part of the group of severe acne. There are a few kinds of severe acne namely, cystic acne (related with acne conglobata), acne conglobata (related with cystic acne), gram negative folliculitis, and acne fulminans. However, the topic today is nodulocystic acne so I wouldn't be talking about the other 3.

You might not have heard of the words nodulocystic acne before but I believe you heard of nodules and cysts. They are actually inter related. Cystic acne being a form of severe acne is actually not common. It is extremely dreaded as we know, and it can be as long as a few cm. Similarly to normal pimples, they can happen face, back, and chest. They can appear just alone or be multiple widespread as well. Acne conglobata is a severe form of acne itself and also a sub-form of cystic acne whereby abscesses are all closely connected (widespread).

Those of you who had cystic acne before knows how it feels like. The surface of the cyst is very soft and smooth like ironically. It is in a irregular shape unlike pimples and feels like a sag.

Nodules are bigger versions of the red little bumps without any pus in them (papules). Anyway, who gets nodulocystic acne? Anybody can get it as usual with other kinds of acne. However, young males are more vulnerable and it could also be inherited through genetics.

The causes of nodulocystic acne are the same as other forms of acne, excess oil, dirt, bacteria, and too much dead skin cells clogging up pores. Most of the time, this form of acne isn't caused by lousy hygiene or bad diet. It is caused usually by hormonal fluctuations. Cystic acne is probably the most scar-causing kind of acne so distubing the lesion should never be done.

Treatments for nodulocystic acne is normally the powerful isotretinoin, which when started the earlier, the lesser scars. At least about half a year of isotretinoin taking course is administered by doctors. Antibiotics, excision (not recommended), are also other options for treatment.

3 Easy Adult Cystic Acne Treatments - Get Rid of Adult Cystic Acne Now
By Steven Caro

Adult cystic acne is no joke. It is a serious condition that can cause acne to develop into small cysts. These nodules of inflammation is a rare form of acne and is caused by the same type of build up of sebum as regular acne is.

You can get this form of acne anywhere on your body, from your chest to your back, from your shoulders to your upper arms, and especially your face. They can also be very scarring, leading to acne scarring that has to be treated.

Thankfully, there are several ways to get rid of this type of acne.

How to Get Rid of Cystic Acne

1. By far the most effective way to get rid of adult cystic acne is Isotretinoin. This drug cures this type of acne in 90 percent of all patients. It is highly effective and often used for this serious form of acne.

2. Antibiotics can be very effective at dealing with this form of acne. There are certain types of antibiotics to look for as some are meant especially for this type of acne.

3. Topical creams, as always, are a good bet. By using topical creams early on, you can actually prevent scarring from happening, which can last six months or longer in many cases.

It should be noted that hygiene has nothing to do with adult cystic acne - and neither does your diet. There are just some people who are more susceptible to this form of acne than others.
